How do you stay hopeful in an environment that doesn't accept that people of colour have the same rights?

Five performers explore their identities and relationships to each other. How do you shape your own vision and values as a son with a father who grew up in a complex world where he couldn't fully be himself? This modern dance performance by urban choreographer Dalton Jansen dismantles stereotypes, pays homage to the black man in a Western world, and celebrates fatherhood.

Dalton was previously seen with STROOM in the production Birds. His choreographies navigate the intersection of hip hop and contemporary dance.
